RSP delivered more than 300 shots with over 150 artists across three locations, led creatively by VFX Supervisor Dan Bethell.

My part

I began with bidding and moved into producing RSP’s work as Senior VFX Producer. I worked alongside RSP VFX Supervisor Dan Bethell and Marvel’s VFX team, including VFX Supervisor Jake Morrison and VFX Producer Lisa Marra, as sequences were broken down and methodologies developed. We worked through scope, effects assumptions and shooting implications for work ranging from Gorr’s opening and environments to Baby Thor, Goat Boat travel and the finale.

Why it mattered

Early relighting experiments raised practical questions about what could be achieved from photographed material. I helped work through what the proposed approach could offer, what capture it would require and how those constraints affected the look, scope and shooting plan. The aim was to turn an emerging technical possibility into a production decision the filmmakers and team could use.

Recognition

2022 AACTA Award nomination for Best Visual Effects or Animation.

AEAF Silver Award for the opening sequence.
