Managing RSP’s production team, establishing previs and connecting on-set requirements with post-production planning.

My part

As Digital Production Supervisor, I ran and managed RSP’s team to deliver the work under Producer Mark Webb and VFX Supervisor Tim Crosbie. Alongside day-to-day team management, I planned the post-production work. I hired and helped establish the previs team at Fox Studios in Sydney, including working out its workflow and making sure it had the support it needed. I worked directly with Director Bryan Singer, VFX Producer Joyce Cox, VFX Supervisor Mark Stetson and RSP’s team as the production’s requirements developed.

I also brought RSP specialists into early testing of the Panavision Genesis digital camera to provide feedback on its response to greenscreen photography. My role was to connect that expertise with the production’s needs and carry the implications into our planning.

My on-set involvement included the Kent Farm flashback in Tamworth and Lois’s X-ray sequence at the Daily Planet, alongside continued post planning back at RSP. Tim Crosbie provided RSP’s VFX supervision on the Kent Farm work; RSP’s supervisors and artists developed and delivered the imagery.

Why it mattered

RSP delivered 106 shots, including young Clark’s Kent Farm flashback and Superman’s X-ray vision. My contribution connected the filmmakers, specialist advice and production planning so RSP’s supervisors and artists had the support to achieve the work.
